A T-shirt designed by Dawn T., a student at Mooseheart became available to the public on May 15th at the annual blessing of the bikes at Mooseheart. The design (located in the photos section of this website) was selected out of several that were entered by the Mooseheart youth. "Mooseheart is...My home and family" was also part of Dawn's design. For the youth at Mooseheart, this quote symbolizes what Mooseheart means to them a home and a family. T-shirts are being sold for a limited time. $10 for sizes Adult S-L and $12 for sizes XL-4XL. We have been presented with a wonderful opportunity to support the Mooseheart High School girls’ track team members. Thirteen members of the team will be participating in the sectionals meet on May 13th in Rockford. Their coach and fellow co-worker, Emily Jones, is planning on having them “carbo-load” with a pasta party the night before on May 12th and she has requested our help. She is asking that we join the girls for dinner and bring a dish to pass. At this time, she is looking for pasta dishes, salads, fruit, and water. It does not have to be extensive or elaborate, just a little something to share.

Mooseheart will be hosting the Midwest Rugby Tournament the weekend of April 24-25.

Mooseheart Lodge 2655 will be running the concession stand during the tournament. Volunteers are needed for two 4-hour shifts (8am-12pm; 12pm-4pm) each day. If you can hand people food and/or make change, you are qualified.

In January and February, Lodge 2655 hosted the first skills and drills basketball camp on Saturdays from 9a-10:30a. This event was free for all Mooseheart youth and youth of lodge members. Youth learned skills like passing, dribbling, shooting and defense. At the end of each day of the camp, youth got to play against one another in scrimmages. Youth were excited for the opportunity to play in this camp and many Mooseheart youth were even heard talking about how much they looked forward to the next Saturday to get to play again.
